몸통이 광택있는 노랑색이라 등노랑풍뎅이.
풍뎅이 종류는 순진무구한 눈에 3개로 겹쳐진 더듬이를 가졌다.
비행하기 직전에 몸을 가볍게 하기 위해 똥을 싸는 경우가 많다.
