거저리과 애벌레는 식용 곤충으로 많이 이용된다
산맴돌이거저리는 광택이 없는 딱지날개에 점각이 밭고랑 처럼 줄지어 있다.
주로 썩은 나무를 파먹고 살지만 가리는 것이 거의 없는 잡식성이다.
